If you happen to find yourself in downtown Minneapolis, take a drive over the Mississippi River on the Hennepin Avenue bridge.
There you will spot the 1940s-era iconic Grain Belt Beer sign in the shape of a bottle cap.
Dormant for years due to non-functioning neon, the sign has been restored and pending approval, is slated to light up once again sometime this summer 2017.
LED lights will take the place of the old neon and will join the rest of the retrofitted signs of the past along the Minneapolis riverfront. Watch my site for another night-time rendition of this piece of Minneapolis history.
