Architecture Series

I was recently approached by a man at one of my gallery openings who was very interested in the black and white photography I was featuring.

“Most people show either all color or all black and white, and I’m facinated that you decided to show both!”

One of the interests he had was how my photographs were produced and the inspiration behind them. I am in love and awe with contemporary architecture, and primarily the architure of Frank Gehry. His buildings become wonderful forms of sculpture on the landscape in any given city and I have been priviledged to see his buildings in Chicago, Los Angeles, Minneapolis, and Dusseldorf. I came ever so close to Bilbao, but just couldn’t make that happen. Next time.

Because Gehry’s buildings are mostly in stainless, I have chosen to print these black and white, dramatically enhanced photographs on metallic paper and mat them in black. I also use a stainless frame as part of the package.

Visit this series of photographs at the Frank Stone Gallery from November 13th-November 23rd. I will be there at the opening reception on Friday, November 14th from 5pm-9pm. Stop on by and remember, it will be a good time to pick up a unique gift for the holidays! I look forward to seeing you there!
